Mr. Khalid Abdulrahim, M.Sc, FCIOB, FACostE, DEng (Hon) is the Chairman of Cebarco Bahrain and the KAR Group of companies. He has a Master’s Degree in Construction Management from Glasgow Caledonian University, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building and Fellow of the Association of Cost Engineers, both institutions are incorporated under a royal charter in the United Kingdom.

He Founded Cebarco Bahrain in 1992. Prior to this he was a Director of  Hafeera Contracting and Managing Director of Modern Engineering. Under Mr Abdulrahim’s leadership, Cebarco has grown steadily, built a wealth of experience and won the support of a global network of partners and associates in the construction industry with a special focus on the Middle East.

The management and leadership exhibited during the execution especially of  the Bahrain International Circuit and the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi won Mr Abdulrahim and Cebarco a reputation for delivering fast track projects with strict deadlines and standards.

In recognition of the quality of work and the enormous effort and excellence in managing the completion of the construction of Bahrain International Circuit ahead of schedule, His Majesty the King of Bahrain  awarded Mr Abdulrahim the Wisam Al-Bahrain award in 2004.

To share his experience, Mr Abulrahim has participated in many forums including the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) Trade Forum “Creating Winning Business Alliances” and GLCU Alumni in Abu Dhabi where he received an achievers award from Sir Jackie Stewart.

In  June 2013, Mr Abdulrahim was  appointed as a director to the board of Bank Alkhair He also sits on the Bank’s Risk Committee.

In June 2014, he was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in Engineering from Glasgow Caledonian University. This was  in recognition of his exceptional success as an entrepreneur  leader in international business, and for his outstanding track record of supporting educational opportunities in the area of civil engineering and the build environment.

Mr Abdulrahim’s awards and achievements  reflects his entrepreneurship and business shrewdness. He  also believes strongly in contributing to philanthropic activities including charitable organizations and societies.
